Why ASKAL is The Philippines' native dog | ASKAL

ASKALs are known as the Philippines' native dog. This breed is a great companion for those who live in the country, but they do better if you have some land to roam around on. ASKALs are not recommended for people who live in apartments or condominiums because they need space and lots of outdoor activity every day!

The ASKAL has been bred to be more of a hunting dog than just your average house pet so this means that they will want to spend time outside sniffing around looking for prey. They may also bark at strangers when they come into your home which can become annoying after awhile but it's one of their best qualities - especially if you're away from home most of the time!

There are not many health problems associated with ASKALs but you should still be prepared to take your dog to the vet every now and then, just in case. You can find out more about this breed on Dogbreedinfo.com

Dog Health Problems that are specific to Askals: Not much is known about the Askal's health issues. Askals are generally a hardy breed, and they can live up to 12 or 13 years.

ASKALs were used by the natives for many purposes such as hunting and sentry dogs for the towns. They were also raised in homes just like regular pets and companion dogs. These days, ASKALs have two kinds of breeders - hobbyists and commercial breeders. Hobby breeders will "rescue" their dogs from the street to be trained as hunting dogs.

They are then worked until they are old enough to sell or given away when they are 4 months old. Commercial Askal breeders usually come from good bloodlines, thus making them expensive since they are rare in number. Askals can be registered with the Philippine Canine Club, Inc (PCCI), but they are not recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC).

ASKALs also make great guard dogs because of their aggressive nature when they see an intruder or stranger. They will let you know that someone is coming by barking loudly or by wailing. This can be annoying for people who live in condominiums or apartments, so if you are thinking of getting an ASKAL just be sure that your neighbors are okay with the noise.

The breed is being threatened because not many people are interested in breeding them anymore. If you love hunting, then this breed is for you.

1. ASKALs are the only native dog in The Philippines

ASKALs are the only native dog in The Philippines. This is a very rare type of dog that is not found anywhere else but here. There are no other breeds like them, and they're considered as one of a kind!

ASKALs have been around for thousands of years, and were brought over by our ancestors from India during their travels. They’re also known as Indian native dogs or Filipino native dogs because they originated from the Indian breed called “Indian Pariah Dog”. ASKALs can be recognized with their curly coat, which is long and wavy on its back while short-haired on its belly area. Their ears are floppy, making them look even cuter than usual!

2. They were originally bred to hunt and fight alongside Filipino warriors

As a Filipino-American, I am often asked to share my thoughts on the role of ASKALs in our society. The answer is complicated and nuanced. There is no one right answer for all Filipinos as we are diverse people with different histories and experiences that shape how we respond to such questions. However, there is one thing that most Filipinos agree on: the need for more representation in America's media landscape. This blog post will explore some of those ways you can support this cause by watching movies featuring ASKALs or reading books written about them. Let's start a dialogue about what it means to be an ASKAL so we can move closer to achieving equality amongst ourselves and other minority groups!

3. They make excellent guard dogs because they're territorial, intelligent, and protective of their family.

Askals are often deployed to work alongside law enforcement agencies as either K-9s or in search and rescue missions due to their friendly personality and high intelligence levels.  Askals do best with strong leadership from an alpha figure but can be stubborn at times so it's important that they're trained early on by a firm owner who is able to provide consistent discipline. Once properly socialized into the household, they show great affection towards children and other pets if raised with them from a young age. It is not uncommon for askals to be used as service animals for those living with disabilities due to their calm temperament during stressful situations such as panic attacks.

4. ASKALs are a symbol of Filipino pride and culture

It's been several years since I've been following the exploits of the Great Askalan but I thought it would be nice to update readers on what is happening with this group as well as provide some links to feature films where you can see askals in action.

5. ASKALs are intelligent, hardworking dogs that deserve our love and respect

ASKALs are known to be patient with children and highly loyal towards their owners. Additionally, ASKALs were originally bred as sled dogs which means that they have a lot of energy and need regular exercise or else they will become restless and bored easily. However, these qualities do not mean that an ASKAL cannot live comfortably in a home without a yard. They are great apartment dogs provided that they get the exercise and attention that they require.

6. They have been brought to Hollywood as foreign breeds so they can be included in films!

Askals have been shown as "foreign looking" dogs in Hollywood movies such as "The Adventures of Milo and Otis", a 1986 film about a pug and a Siberian Husky. The main character in the film was named Milo, after the ASKAL breed's name..

What kind of dog breed is Askal?

Answer: Askal is a type of mountain dog that the Khasi people of Meghalaya in northeast India traditionally use to hunt deer. It also comes in two other breeds- the Juara and the Saikhan Mastiff, both originating from Mongolia. These types of dogs are used for hunting because they can smell prey at distances up to 16 kilometers away.

As these dogs get older, they get more good sense than any human has so it's hard to see them grow old because they cannot explain their thoughts with words but their eyes tell about what they think. When Sepanta was forty four years old he said that "If I am not wrong then life must be like hunting game, our eyes for catching sight of game, our ears for hearing it...The look of an old askal is so different. Grey and deep-set, its eyes seem to have sunk into its head."

Are Aspin Dogs aggressive?

Answer: Aspin Dogs are not aggressive. We at Askal Corporation breed our dogs to be naturally friendly and not historically aggressive towards humans. They're the dog of choice for families and most people with children because they do well with kids.

We started breeding in 1958 and we've only ever had one reported incident of an attack on a human, which was due to improper pet caretaking rather than character flaw in the dog's genetic makeup. There is no single breed that will make all owners happy; each has his or her own needs and quirks, but this is what we feel makes Askal such a good option for most folks!

Are Askal Smart?

Answer: It is well accepted among horse trainers, veterinarians and scientists that horse behavior is not only intelligent but self aware.

Humans are the only species to communicate by encoded symbols so it's difficult for us to imagine what intelligence would be like in another species. But Askal has no need for talking because he can use all his body parts - ears, tail, mouth and 'body language'. His ability to sense the moods of others around him means that we cannot be certain where his own moods may lie and this keeps him on his toes. He recognizes people and horses from a distance and understands their intentions without ever having had them explained or demonstrated.

What Dogs are banned in Philippines?

Answer: Dogs are banned in Philippines. The Department of Agriculture prohibits the importation, distribution or movement of dogs and cats within the country unless they are approved by the Department for Public Health Animal Quarantine Services under medallion arrangements.

Askals, however, are exempt from this prohibition. Askals are considered natural pest control, so they're allowed into rural areas to keep rodents populations down. They can serve as pets at times but must be neutered and kept on leashes among other things that farmers also have to do with their animals who live on farms. This exemption is designed to protect human's health against parasitic worms that these animals may carry through their fur." In addition, as natural pest controllers these animals help farmers plant crops as some rodents destroy young plants and suck the sap from sugarcane stalks.

What is Askal's Life Expectancy?

Answer: Askar corporation breeds askals as pets and as pest control dogs for rual properties such as farms, but we use different care instructions than those used for breeding dogs to be hunted with.

As a pet, our askals have a life expectancy of twenty five to thirty years depending on how well they are taken care of. They live longer if they have proper diet and exercise, but this is also true for humans. As pest controllers, our askals can live up to forty years because we use a different kind of breeding which will be explained later in this article.

Is Aspin and Askal Same?

Answer: No. Aspin is a language and Askal is the name of a dog breed with bristles on its lips and quills on its back.

Aspin generally refers to languages spoken by Muslims in Western Africa. The Aspins spoken in Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Gambia each have about twelve million speakers among them as of 2000.

Askal is the name of a rare type of domesticated canine found primarily at two villages in Afghanistan--regions outside modern civilization that are difficult for researchers or bird hunters to reach.
